Femme Wave presents: Bonjay with Prairie Chola Ayatollah

The King Eddy is pleased to partner with Femme Wave to present Bonjay with opener Prairie Chola Ayatollah.

2018 Polaris Prize Long-Listers Bonjay are bringing their genre-defying blend of dancehall, soul and electro-pop to the legendary King Eddy stage.

Dancehall-bred. Orchestrated like old soul. Driven by emotive vocals inspired as much by Feist as by Yolanda Adams. There’s a rawness to Bonjay: to the feelings, to the voice, to the sounds clashing. It sounds like something new.

Bonjay is Alanna Stuart and Ian Swain of Toronto. While their debut Broughtupsy EP established them with praise from Dazed & Confused, The New York Times and The Guardian, they continue to garner critical lauds with their latest album Lush Life, landing on the coveted Polaris Music Prize Long List in 2018.
