BuckingJam Palace Presents: Malika Tirolien

Join Malika Tirolien for an entertaining and upbeat evening as fabulous musicians showcase a new genre called “Highsoul,” a mix of R&B, soul, hip-hop, and jazz, creating the soundtrack of a psychedelic trip from anger to forgiveness.

About Malika Tirolien:
Malika Tirolien is an explosive mix of creativity, dedication and genuineness. Her love, passion and respect for music can be felt in the sparkling authenticity of her performances and her soaring voice. From Guadeloupe but Montreal-based, this Grammy nominated vocalist, songwriter, and producer has been garnering international attention, striking with her electrifying performance on “I’m Not the One” from the Grammy-winning album Family Dinner by Snarky Puppy. She also became the lead singer and co leader of super group BOKANTÉ with mastermind producer and musician Michael League. The band toured in over 20 countries and released two critically acclaimed albums, the most recent one, What Heat (in collaboration with the Metropole Orkest) being nominated as best world album at the Grammys 2020. As it is best to “Never change a winning team,” Malika Tirolien and Michael League co-produced Malikaʼs sophomore solo album Higher, released in February 2021 via GroupUP Music.

BuckingJam Palace, Calgary’s home for Jazz, is proud to host this incredible concert at the historic King Eddy, presenting for the first time outside of our regular 1910 house concert venue. BJP Music Foundation hosts top-tier jazz musicians from all over the world.
