Calgary Bluesfest is pleased to present award-winning musician Steve Marriner at the historic King Eddy on May 23.

About Steve Marriner:

One of Canada’s busiest artists, Steve Marriner has proven himself to be a versatile and highly skilled musician, song writer and producer. In addition to winning 9 Maple Blues Awards as a harmonica player and vocalist on his own, he has won another 10 Maple Blues, 2 Junos, 2 Canadian Indie Music, and 1 American Blues Music awards as one third of swamp rockers Monkey Junk.

Steve blows harmonica like the best of them, and is a fine bassist, drummer and B3 player. He also sings like a bird. He is blues-rock giant Colin James’ touring sideman, with whom he’s performed at Massey Hall in Toronto, Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Austin City Limits and the Troubadour in L.A. among the a-list rooms he’s appeared at. He toured the world with blues/folk legend Harry Manx.

Steve is an in-demand studio musician who’s often at Ganaraska Studio recording and producing albums (over 40 to date) with fellow musician Jimmy Bowskill, and has started his own production company called Marriner Custom Sounds.
