Casual Classical with Eileen Kosasih and guests

Think you have to dress up and head downtown for amazing classical music? Think again. Every month, creative triple threat Eileen Kosasih presents a world-class chamber and classical show at the Eddy with talented pals.

This month, Eileen is joined by the Rosewood Trio and Czarkologie.
Please note: This is the earlier of multiple shows we’re presenting on this date. The next show is scheduled to begin at 9 pm. When this show is over, we ask that you please make room for fellow ticket-holding live music lovers. Tickets for the second show can be purchased online or at the door (subject to availability).

Eileen Kosasih is a pianist, violinist, and artist based in Calgary. She has a B.A. Music in Violin (Ambrose University), M.A. Music in Orchestral Conducting (Azusa Pacific University), and a piano diploma (American College of Musicians). Eileen is founder and was director of Calgary Arts Orchestra, a former ensemble dedicated to new Canadian music and a high level of artistry.

Eileen is host of Eileen Kosasih’s Classical Variety Show at the King Eddy and is principle 2nd of Symphony of the Kootenays and plays with Rocky Mountain Symphony Orchestra. She is also an expressionist painter and illustrator.

Czarkologie was created in 2010 by pianist/composer Anthony Czarnecki and violinist/conductor Eileen Kosasih. The music of Czarkologie is rooted in Anthony’s jazz compositions (first performed/recorded by the Gerry Hebert Quartet). Anthony rewrote his music in classical style for the duo to perform as Czarkologie. While the pieces are generally through-composed, there are moments for improvisation. The original music of Czarkologie explores rich traditions of structure, color and rhythmic diversity from classical and jazz to world and modern sources.
