About Cowtown Opera Company:
The folks at Cowtown Opera Company are taking on the challenge of increasing the number of opera enthusiasts in this city! Cowtown Opera shows are interactive, educational and very Calgarian with their hint of “western flavour”. They are even at times satirical as they poke fun of the “over-the-top”, dramatic, unrealistic story lines – all this while featuring local talent and creating performance opportunities for both established and up-and-coming artists. Come check out what Cowtown Opera has to offer. A word of warning though, you may leave a converted opera lover!

About Matthew Bruce Tenor:
Born in North Vancouver, BC, Bruce’s love for music was inspired from an early age. It inspired him to relocate to Victoria, BC in 2008 to study the theatrical arts: music, theatre, and dance at the Canadian College of Performing Arts. Upon graduation two years later, he continued to advance his vocal training at the Victoria Conservatory of Music, studying with internationally-renowned soprano and oratorio specialist, Nancy Argenta.

Mr. Bruce is a graduate of the Calgary Opera Emerging Artist Development Program (2013-15), and has performed in it’s main stage productions of ‘Candide’ (as Candide, Opera in the Village Festival, August 2014), ‘Silent Night’ (as Jonathan Dale, Nov 2014),and ‘Carmen’ (as Le Dancaïre , April 2015).
