CJF – Avi Granite 6

Toronto’s neo-jazz ensemble the Avi Granite 6 performs the music of guitarist and composer Avi Granite. Touring to promote its latest recording ‘Orbit’, the group’s sound is a cultural tapestry, exploring original compositions through fierce improvisations that bridge film music and the modern jazz tradition.

Based in New York and splitting his time in his native Canada, Granite’s playing has been described as serpentine, combining an approach of half-intellect, half-instinct creating a whole new jazz sound!
