Melding folk with retro pop and classic country, singer-songwriter Ellen Froese hits the King Eddy stage in celebration of her new album, Fightin’ Words, with opener Tyler Allen of The Red Hot Hayseeds.
About Ellen Froese:
Hailing from a dairy farm in the heart of Saskatchewan, young folk singer Ellen Froese is making her presence known in the Canadian music scene. Her latest album, Fightin’ Words, due out on November 1, was produced by Kacy Anderson (Kacy & Clayton) and features her backing band, the Hot Toddies. The album draws from a range of genres, from folk and country, to pop ballads, throwback punk and rockabilly. The album’s first single, “Eaton’s Spring & Summer 1975,” is out now.
About Tyler Allen:
Tyler Allen is a multi-instrumentalist songwriter from Calgary, Alberta influenced by country, folk, western swing, and bluegrass. A combination of breezy, cool melodies and fierce, hot musicianship that would send ol’ Dorothy from Kansas to Oz and back again with a serious case of head-turning whiplash. This heartfelt, no frills yet fun, and straight-up talented fella will make you feel and think while you sway along.
