Groove Theory Calgary delivers a true island vibe with Calgary music collective Music2diSoul.
Groove Theory Calgary is an open-ended, free form, perfectly imperfect, “do what u feel” jam session that welcomes groovy bands, singers, emcees, spoken word artists and musicians to create and collaborate, on the spot and right on the King Eddy stage.

Music2diSoul:
Music 2 Di Soul is a Calgary based Soul-Reggae band. The 5 piece group, each member representing the various islands in the Caribbean, offers their listeners a true Island vibe, here at home.
With over 25 years of combined musical experience, each member contributes a unique sound, to uplift and elate you. You may be reminded of the cultural foundations of Taurus Riley, Dennis Brown or Sanchez, as well as the soulful sounds of Marvin Gaye and Lauryn Hill.
Music 2 Di Soul has worked with international recording artists such as Tanya Stephens, Turbulence, Lukie D and Marcia Griffiths, and was also featured as the backing band for JUNOFEST 2016. Currently working on their first album, Music 2 Di Soul, M.2.D.S is also building a YouTube stream to showcase the various genres of music in their repertoire.
Music 2 Di Soul believes that music is what unites us, regardless of our position or background. As our motto says, “WE ARE GOOD BY OURSELVES, BUT WE WORK BETTER TOGETHER”

Producer, songwriter, composer, and guitarist, Jamil Ahmed does it all. In addition to curating the local sounds of Groove Theory Calgary, Jamil DJs groovy sounds every Thursday at the King Eddy.
