Hey! Driver

Indie folk/Americana duo Hey! Driver hits the legendary King Eddy stage on June 14.

About Hey! Driver:

Hey! Driver is an Alberta-based indie folk/Americana band known for rich harmonies, heartfelt lyrics, and magnetic live performances. With a sound rooted in Canadian storytelling and a deep connection to their audience, the band brings both intimacy and energy to every stage. Their music blends all styles of Americana—from folk and alt-country to roots rock and bluegrass—into something entirely their own: equal parts road trip soundtrack and campfire confession.

Over the years, Hey! Driver has shared stages with an impressive list of artists, including The Dead South, Trooper, Kim Mitchell, Morgan Wallen, Hardy, Blue Rodeo, and many more. Their ability to resonate with both mainstream and roots music fans has made them a versatile and sought-after act across western Canada.

Brent Boivin brings over a decade of experience as a vocalist and songwriter, with a voice that carries the dust and depth of the backroads. His writing is raw, honest, and deeply connected to place and memory.

Matthew O’Connor, a New Brunswick-born multi-instrumentalist, adds over 20 years of live and studio experience to the project. His musical intuition and versatility add depth and color to every performance, anchoring the band’s sound in authenticity.

Together, Brent and Matthew form the heart of Hey! Driver. The group performs as a duo, trio, or full band, adapting seamlessly to intimate listening rooms, outdoor festivals, and everything in between.

With their latest single Backwoods Revival gaining traction and more music on the way, Hey! Driver continues to carve out a space in the Canadian roots scene—inviting listeners to sing loud, feel deeply, and come along for the ride.
