Homegrown Country with Dani Strong & Mallory Johnson at the King Eddy

Dani Strong and Mallory Johnson are both forces to be reckoned with in Canadian country music, so you better watch out when they hit the King Eddy stage together – anything can happen! Experience their powerful vocals and dynamic songwriting in this double-header Homegrown Country show.

About Dani Strong

Dani Strong is a multi-award-winning artist and songwriter with an infectious stage presence. Dani’s latest album “Undefined” has over 1.3 Million streams, two International Independent Music Awards, and placements on Netflix and Amazon Prime featured films.

Her 3rd album will be released in fall 2022. The first single, “Slow Down” was released in March 2022. As with all her music, the new material is produced and mixed by Dani’s long-time friend and Grammy-nominated producer, Dan Brodbeck.

Dani has earned her reputation as a talented hard-working indie both on and off the stage – with 6 radio singles, a nation-wide tour, two international talent show appearances, a song-theft scandal, a #1 iTunes album, and multiple songwriting awards. But it all started paying dues playing the cover circuit in bars, and working short stints as the only female crew member on the tour for some big Canadian rock bands .

“The hardest thing for me to do as a songwriter is define my sound or genre,” Dani says. “I have always fancied myself a fairly diverse writer…for better or worse. it’s hard to pick just one box to put myself into, so I’m just going to record songs that mean a lot to me—and hopefully others. My goal as a writer is to give the listener something they can relate to, lean on, or find joy in.”

About Mallory Johnson

“The girl can sing!” says Grammy-nominated and multi-platinum entertainer Sammy Kershaw, in an interview with Nashville Country Club. “Her pitch is so good, she has country soul, her phrasing is great and the way she breathes in the song, it’s unbelievable that she’s been sitting out there.”

2022 SiriusXM Top of the Country Semi-Finalist Mallory Johnson has been turning heads in the country music scene over the last few years, sharing stages with artists like Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Blake Shelton and Rascal Flatts. Since her ECMA award-winning debut EP in 2019, the 2022 ECMA Artist Innovator of the Year has received praise from the likes of CMT, Billboard, and American Songwriter while being featured on popular playlists such as Spotify’s “New Music Nashville” and “Live Country,” and Amazon Music’s “Breakthrough Country.”

Her most recent single release “Married” follows a collaboration with West Coast duo Twin Kennedy on their shared single “Wise Woman,” which caught the attention of media such as CBC, CTV, CMT, The East, and The Bluegrass Situation, with Billboard calling it: “[A] gorgeous tale of vulnerability that strikes just the right chord.” Coinciding with the single release, Mallory and Twin Kennedy shared a powerful music video directed by Cecil Johnson which took home Music Video of the Year at the 2021 MusicNL Awards as well as Fans’ Choice Video of the Year at the 2022 East Coast Music Awards. Mallory also co-produced and co-hosted Wise Woman – The Show, which featured world class talent and critically acclaimed Canadian female artists residing in Nashville, TN and aired as a radio special on SiriusXM Country.

Mallory’s new single “Married” is a cheeky and empowering introduction to her much anticipated debut full length album produced by Grammy-nominated producer Kent Wells.
