Hurricane Felix

Kick off your weekend the right way with rockabilly-blues band Hurricane Felix and the Southern Twisters.

Felix Enrique Calderon aka Hurricane Felix (Upright Bass & Lead Vocals)– born in El Salvador, but raised and lives in Calgary Alberta Canada. After his first band, “The Hansdome Devils”, Hurricane Felix and the Southern Twisters kicked into the cow town music scene in 2002 then 2015 he launched his newest project Hurricane Felix and the Manik Men! Along side “Mad Maddy” his Double bass and started slappin’ to influences such as Johnny Burnette, Charlie Feathers, Bill Browning, Johnny Carol and more. When you hear the Rockabilly, honky tonk blues, it adds up to Hurricane Felix & The Manik Men.

Brendan Derrick aka “Boom Boom” (Percussion)- Hailing from High River Alberta, Boom has been playing in Calgary for over a decade. Since then he has been playing drums in a multitude of different bands!!! Playing with the Southern Twisters and joining The Manik Men in 2016, his smooth style and love music drives him as a musician. His ability to adapt and bring his own influences makes him an amazing performer this is also reflected in three invaluable traits he brings to any situation: musical versatility, razor-sharp instincts, and refined, but inspired technique.

Bobby aka “SouthPaw BawBe” (Guitar) SouthPaw has been tearing up the Calgary music scene for more years than he’d like mentioned. He’st currently hosting jams at Border Crossing and he’s worked with numerous Calgary musicians. His drive for music and exquisite sound make him a force.
