Folk-country singer-songwriter Jaiden Riley hits the legendary King Eddy stage with her band the Crybabies for a Valentine’s special on February 14. Alberta storyteller Ross Fizzard will open the show.
About Jaiden Riley & the Crybabies:
Jaiden Riley is an Albertan Metis singer/songwriter whose music captures the heart of the prairies and old soul storytelling. Often punctuated by a cheeky yodel or two, honing in on an old-world country sound inspired by the likes of Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, and Dolly Parton. Blending heart-worn ballads with gritty, hard-driving arrangements, she strikes a rare balance. Jaiden writes with fearless vulnerability, drawing from lived experience and reverence for honesty and authenticity in song — her performances carry a limitless energy that leaves every room leaning in.Together, Jaiden Riley and the Crybabies blend folk, classic country, and bluegrass into a distinctive roots-driven sound where heartfelt lyrics meet intricate instrumentation, bringing new life to classic influences while carving out something unmistakably their own.
About Ross Fizzard:
A son of Fort Mac and well travelled drifter, Ross Fizzard writes forward, witty country songs like John Prine with a voice like Ramblin’ Jack Elliott. His music smells of cheap canadian beer, gasoline, donair shops and pine trees, yet tastes like mussels and champagne.
