Calgary’s Jazz Collaborative JazzYYC is presenting a legendary show at the King Eddy featuring Rubim de Toledo Global Jazz Project.

In Edmonton, bassist and composer Rubim de Toledo is a top-call side-person and fertile band leader. In 2021, Rubim won the Western Canadian Music Award (WCMA) for Instrumental Artist of the Year, and in 2018 he won the WCMA Jazz Award. 

He is a founding member of the Albertan Latin groups Montuno West, Bomba, and Maracujah. As well, Rubim also serves as a frequent musical director and composer for Calgary’s Decidedly Jazz Danceworks and is the head of the bass department at MacEwan University.
