This isn’t just a concert. You’re going to be on the record.
On September 26 and 27, the National Music Centre (NMC) launches Live from the King Eddy—a new live recording series that puts you in the room as an album is captured in real time—and we’re kicking it off with The Free Label.
Known for their irresistible mix of disco, funk, and soul, natural chemistry, serious musicianship, and high-energy live shows, The Free Label will take over the King Eddy for two nights to record a live album, with an intimate audience there for every note.
At the heart of it all is a piece of music history: the Rolling Stones Mobile Recording Studio, one of the most iconic pieces in NMC’s living collection. This legendary studio has been part of recordings by artists including The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, and Bob Marley. Now, The Free Label is adding their music to its story—using history to make history.
And so are you.
Live from the King Eddy brings back the spirit of the multi-night residencies that once defined the Eddy, when the energy between a band and a packed room could turn a great night into something unforgettable. Except this time, we’re recording it. The cheers. The energy. The moments that only happen once.
Two nights. Limited seats. One live album.
Be part of the live recording, and when you hear the finished album, you’ll know you were in the room when it happened.
