Melyssa Lee and Education Party bring their heartfelt lyrics and innovative sound to the legendary King Eddy stage on October 2. They’ll be joined by special guests Ekkohs and the Miarlequins.
About Melyssa Lee with Education Party:
Melyssa Lee’s debut album Treasures dropped in May of 2024, after which she was joined for the first time by band Education Party. Together, Melyssa Lee and Education Party play heartfelt lyrics with an innovative sound. They combine traditional folk instruments with fresh and modern Chapman Stick, synth, and electronic rock elements. Melyssa Lee and the band have gone on musical adventures across Alberta, including provincial parks, Red Deer, Lethbridge, Brotel Backyard Music Festival and notable YYC venues such as the Prairie Emporium, the King Eddy, and the Ship & Anchor. Melyssa Lee’s Treasures has been played on radio stations across Canada, including CKUA and YYC campus radio CJSW, where the album landed on the top 10 regularly in the folk category for 5 months post release, and currently sits at #36 on 2024’s top 50 chart.
About Ekkohs:
Ekkohs, from Siksika Nation, Alberta, is the brother-sister duo redefining genre boundaries with a sound that flows freely between indie alternative, folk, rock and contemporary traditional tunes. Formed by Huddson and Lexxington ManyHeads, Ekkohs channels generations of musical spirit—drawing deep inspiration from their grandfather, Matthew ManyHeads, a musician whose legacy continues to echo through every lyric, chord and rhythm they create. With Huddson’s multi-instrumental talent and raw voice, and Lexxington’s ethereal voice paired with guitar, the pair crafts emotionally resonant music that speaks to the hearts of human experience. Whether it’s heartbreak, grief, love, joy, or new life, their songs are made to connect, offering listeners something real to hold onto in life’s most vulnerable moments. Their journey began with “In My Mind,” the very first song they wrote and demoed in 2019—an emotionally raw track about grief and hope that would eventually become their debut single, released in the spring of 2024. That same year, on August 15, Ekkohs dropped their debut full-length album Streetlights—a heartfelt 11-track project filled with poetic lyrics and a sound as rich and textured as the stories behind it. Following Streetlights, in the spring of 2025, the duo released two new singles, ‘ Sake of Living’ and ‘ Begin To End’, with a third on the way, paving the path for their highly anticipated second and most collaborative album yet, How Are You, My Friend? Slated for release soon, the upcoming record continues the band’s mission to create meaningful music that offers comfort, catharsis, and connection. For Ekkohs, music is more than just sound—it’s a lifeline. It’s what helped them through their toughest moments, and it’s now their way of giving that same hope and healing back to the world.
About the Miarlequins:
