Join Edmonton’s genre-defying group Bad Buddy and eclectic Calgary rock band Sunstrokes at the legendary King Eddy for National Music Centre’s CIBC Summer Series on July 25.

About Bad Buddy:

Tight-as-can-be three-part harmonic explosions wrapped in a gritty, primal, snarling exterior, Bad Buddy (Edmonton, Alberta) is a force to be reckoned with. The electric energy of their live show is only amplified by the exceptional songwriting ability possessed by the band. The female-fronted Motown-surf-punk band commands attention, painting powerful, sonic pictures drawn from real-life inspirations.

Bad Buddy released their debut album in July of 2020, reaching #1 on Earshot, followed by single, “Mind Control” (June 2021). These releases were preceded by EP, The Sneakie Peakie.

Bad Buddy is Emily Bachynski (guitar, vocals), Andi Vissia (guitar, vocals), and Geoffrey Hamdon-O’Brien (drums).

About Sunstrokes:

Sunstrokes brings funk, latin, and RnB influences to a modern rock sound with intricate layers of guitar, bass, and drums showcasing the advanced musicality of each artist. The backing instrumental aspect of Sunstrokes is perfected with a very strong vocal and lyrical presence. Dynamic and catchy originals mixed with innovative genre bending covers create a unique and energetic set of music. They have an immense repertoire that includes covers and originals from all styles and genres.
