About New Works Calgary
Through its concert series, New Works Calgary supports the creation and performance of contemporary concert music and brings together a confluence of creative energies from composers, musicians, and adventurous listeners. The matinee will include music from new Co-Artistic Directors of New Works Calgary, composers Rebecca Bruton and Lesley Hinger. As experimental art music sound-makers, Bruton embraces a surrealistic folk music influence, and Hinger leans toward transformational forms and processes in sound and gesture, while they share a love for the delicate and the simple.
Also featured are the incredible talents of Lorna Tsai, John Lowry, Kathleen De Caen, Jesse Morrison, Wayne Garrett, and Rebecca Bruton on voice and guitar.
