Pine Barrens with Cold Water and Foldhed
A triple bill of indie rock goodness! Catch Edmonton‘s Pine Barrens alongside Cold Water and Foldhed at the Eddy.
Pine Barrens was created by Brother Ram in the long slow winter months, after the death of the mighty Krang. They create brooding, heavy, introspective, music that at times is quite beautiful; carrying with it the indelible stamp of coming of age in Small Prairie towns and cities.
At times sitting at a noir-ish simmer, at others boiling over into Crazy Horse-esque country rock, Cold Water’s versatility at making roots rock should come as no surprise. Founding member Kevin Stebner has worked in genres ranging all the way from hardcore to chiptune. More like whiskey than wine, Cold Water is a band that gets stronger the dustier they become (Sled Island).
Foldhed is an improvisational, instrumental, experimental, psychedelic, drone collective out of Calgary. The recipe: two guitars, baritone sax and drums.
