A sound defined by the city that made them, Rosina Cove offer up unpretentious Canadiana with a big heart. Fronted by award-winning songwriter Peter Stone of 100 mile house and rounded out by some of Alberta’s finest musicians, Rosina Cove released their first singles in November 2018. With airplay on CBC and CKUA, a handful of festival dates already under their belts, and a full length coming in the new year, 2019 is set to see this seasoned group of musicians making tracks across the province.
In Buckley’s fifth album, “Miles We Put Behind”, he has veered off the straight Alberta country roads, landing in the Banff Centre for the Arts where he met Grammy-nominated producer and engineer, Howard Bilerman. The in-studio chemistry was undeniable, and soon Buckley found himself on a new stylistic route, eschewing his country past for a more polished, honeyed and honest sound.
Buckley’s new approach to roots and country music has made him an inter-generational favourite. The release has so far exceeded expectations – selling out venues across Western Canada, and debuting on the CBC Top 20 Chart for nine consecutive weeks, named one of CBC’s Fan Favourites of 2018 and listed as a “Calgary Artist of 2018” by the Calgary Herald.
