Shaela Miller at the King Eddy

Honky tonk songstress Shaela Miller hits the King Eddy stage for a free Saturday night show on April 23.

About Shaela Miller
Shaela Miller has spent over a decade in Alberta country music. Her Joan Jett vibe, superb songwriting chops, and outstanding vocal tone could have put her on a number of different paths, but she remained loyal to the magnanimous sounds of southern Alberta’s prairies.

As a highly respected independent artist from the Canadian prairies, Shaela Miller is playing the music she wants to. She adds her own aesthetic elements that make her vision unique while staying firmly planted in a sound that generations before her grew up hearing on AM radio and local honky tonks. Her picked-up shuffles, yearning waltzes, and weeping steel guitar cuts depict the good, bad and ugly times that can only be written by someone who’s lived and truly felt every minute of them.

With her sonic inspiration rooted in the 1970’s golden era of songwriting, Shaela’s production focuses on colourful percussive detail, lush instrumental portraits & locked in rhythm section while never losing focus on the strong songwriting and inimitable vocal styles she has become known for.

Shaela’s latest single, Tidal Wave (March 8, 2022) was released on International Women’s Day. It’s a reflection of the expected and demanding responsibilities women face through the roles of motherhood and romantic partnerships, can leave them feeling completely void of fire, passion and inspiration, yet the expectations remain for them to power through it all.
