Skylab 40 presents: Fraser, Jack Ryan, Miss Bliss and Danger Bay

The King Eddy dancefloor is warming up for Skylab_40, a multi-genre night featuring Alberta’s up-and-coming electronic talent.

About Jack Ryan:
Jack Ryan resides in Calgary and began his journey into the underground of dance music in 2008. For the past 6 years he has delved into the worlds of techno, house, minimal, electro, IDM and breaks. His sets are comprised, almost exclusively, of vinyl with music sourced from record shops across the globe. His sets are characterized by moody, groovy and explorative sounds that push the envelope of electro house. In addition to production and DJing, Jack has become heavily involved in Calgary’s burgeoning scene, throwing one offs and underground event series with various collaborators in unexpected venues with an aim to help diversify night culture in the city.

About Miss Bliss:
Miss Bliss, based out of Calgary, AB has a unique vibe a strong presence as a female DJ. Successfully touring out west playing in all the major cities between Winnipeg and Vancouver playing nightclubs and festivals. Leanna found her place in the house music scene by surrounding herself with local DJ talent and genuinely learning the genre of house for what it is. Staying true to her uniqueness and unconventional style, she brings fresh beats to every atmosphere ranging from banging house music to bass-driven tech house. She’s constantly mixing in other genres, like old school disco remixes to 90’s rap. With music full of love and character, she never forgets her roots while mixing new flavours and feels and…oh, basically anything you can dance to. 

About Danger Bay: 
Dane Hanson has always had an extreme love for electronic music starting from the age of 14. Growing up on Boards of Canada, Plaid, U-Ziq and “IDM” he was an avid collector of all things spacey, glitched out, and abstract. As a DJ his influences can range anywhere from deep techno / electro, to soulful disco/house, to rare italo gems lost in time and re-imagined. Always playing from the heart, his high energy sets are sure to get you off the chairs and onto the dance floor as it’s a rare site to see him standing still behind the decks without a smile.
