Songsmith Sundays with Heather May

Folk singer-songwriter Heather May will fill in for Songsmith Sundays this weekend, presenting a chill acoustic set with special guest Bennett Mitchell.

Please note: The King Eddy will be closed on Sunday from 11 am until 2 pm for a sold-out Mother’s Day brunch show. Songsmith Sundays will start at 2 pm.

Heather May’s compositions find their footing in unconventional guitar tunings and intricately crafted lyrics. A search for the truth and authenticity, no matter how uncomfortable it may be, ripples through her work. Whether this search finds itself basking in the intensity of love and beauty, fearful in the face of mortality, or yearning for belonging, her songs consistently offer a lyrical boldness that demands thought and earnest reflection from every listener. Her discography includes an EP called “While I’ve Been Away” and an album titled “For Mark,” which was named Folk Recording of the Year at the 2020 Calgary Music Awards.
