In honour of Calgary’s favourite 10 days of the year, the King Eddy is bringing you a multi-genre roundup of sizzlin’ hot tunes for Stampede 2019. Catch this country-and-more lineup all day and all night on a historic stage just 600 metres from Stampede Park.
About The Wet Secrets:
The Wet Secrets are a six-piece rock ‘n roll gang fueled by a primal, fuzzy punk rock spirit, and steered by a love of slinky disco, art rock, 70’s horns and AM gold songwriting. They have a well-established reputation for a phenomenal, sweaty live show. NPR included The Wet Secrets in their “Austin 100” list of top artists to watch at SXSW 2016, exclaiming: “Fist-pumping pop-rock fight songs, from a bunch of Canadians dressed like a marching band. Yes!” NPR also included the current single “I Can Swing a Hammer” on their Heavy Rotation list of “10 Songs Public Radio Can’t Stop Playing” describing the band as “a colorful, energetic sextet that mines the spirit of ’50s rock ‘n’ roll and ’70s punk and runs it all through a 21st-century filter.”
About Grounders:
Grounders’ home base is an overflowing garage in Toronto’s West End, but the roots of their new album Coffee & Jam stretch much farther west. Since releasing their debut self-titled LP in 2015, the band – Andrew Davis (vocals and guitar), Daniel Busheikin (keyboards), Mike Searle (Bass) and Evan Lewis (guitar) and Kurt Marcoux (the newly-recruited drummer) – have logged countless hours on the road, touring throughout Canada and the U.S. Somewhere down the line of empty motels, sand dunes and vast, dry American landscapes, their dreamy psych pop turned dark and unsettling.
Sound production equipment for the King Eddy is provided by PK Sound and Yamaha.
