The Static Shift is proud to announce April 29 at the King Eddy as the single release party for their upcoming release, a cover of Jimi Hendrix’s “Voodoo Child (Slight Return).”

Recorded at OCL Studios just outside of Calgary, AB, and produced by the band and engineer Tobias Kalden, this take on the legendary Jimi Hendrix tune was recorded with a live-off-the-floor feel with the goal of capturing The Static Shift’s energetic live show. “Voodoo Child (Slight Return)” serves as an amuse bouche for the group’s upcoming original album.

About The Static Shift

The Static Shift is powered by Mitchell Brady (guitar/lead vocals), Kyle Tenove (bass) and Taylor Miles (drums). With a sound described as tight and unquestionably groovy, The Static Shift aims to transport audiences away through a soulful musical experience. Inspired by classic rock and blues sounds, as well as alternative, indie, and psychedelic rock, the group has only begun their journey to produce sweet, sonic goodness. With multiple successful albums under their belt, including singles “Wide Awake,” “1965,” and “Feeling Fine,” which hit #7, #14, and #81 on the Canada Active Rock charts respectively, The Static Shift continues to build a passionate and sincere following. They’ve toured and performed alongside the likes of The Cult, Billy Talent, Marianas Trench, Collective Soul, April Wine, Kansas, Big Sugar, Walk Off The Earth, and Trooper. When you find your feet momentarily planted in the presence of one of their electrifying shows, you can expect a whole lot of character-fueled rock blasting from their very souls.
